Terms of Service

Dad's Academy is free to start, with no card required. The free plan gives each cadet five questions a day in a single subject. The full plan unlocks unlimited daily practice across all subjects, adaptive levelling, and earn-to-play screen time. Full plan pricing is shown on our pricing page and at checkout.

Dad's Academy is operated by Blue Ocean Ventures Inc., #1100 - 1177 West Hastings St, Vancouver, BC V6E 2K9, Canada (“we”, “us”). This is the entity you are contracting with and the seller of the subscription. Your card statement may show a charge from Blue Ocean Ventures Inc. or a Dad's Academy descriptor.

The full plan is a subscription billed per cadet, with a monthly or an annual option. The exact price, currency and billing frequency are shown at checkout before you pay, and you must tick to accept these terms before your subscription starts. There is no free trial.

Automatic renewal.Your subscription continues and renews automatically at the end of each billing period — every month for a monthly plan, or every year for an annual plan — and we charge the payment method on file at the then-current price for that period, until you cancel. Cancel any time before a renewal date to avoid the next charge; see “Cancelling” below. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we do not store your card details.

If the price will change at renewal, or after any introductory period, we will tell you the new price and the renewal date by email to your account address in advance, with enough notice to cancel first, and where the law requires it we will ask you to confirm before charging the new amount. You may cancel at no cost before the change takes effect.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under automatic-renewal and consumer-protection laws — for example the California Automatic Renewal Law and the U.S. federal negative-option rules, or the distance- and future-performance-contract rules of your Canadian province. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.

You can cancel any time from Billingin your parent account, under “Manage billing”. When you cancel, the cadet keeps full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, then returns to the free plan. Removing a cadet's seat stops future charges for that cadet.

A parent or guardian creates and controls the family account and sets up each cadet. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for the activity under your account. Please use the service as intended and don't attempt to disrupt it or access other families' data.

Cadet accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian. How we handle a child's information is described in our Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms as the service changes. If we make a significant change, we'll email account holders at the address on file and update the “last updated” date at the top of this page before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
